WWD hired me to shoot for an article about the onetime “jewelry capital of the world” as it undergoes a revival. I had no idea the amount of jewelry making still happening in Providence and what was housed inside these old brick buildings. Take a look a the pictures for a view of where Alex and Ani, Tiffany, Shinola, and David Yurman products are manufactured. Click on the link, here, to read the whole article.
These 2 diving images from the RIO Olympics were Selected to be included in American Photography’s 2017 Photo Annual. The shots were both taken during practice before the Olympics had officially started. Working for the IOC gave me some great access and allowed me the freedom to find these 2 angles.

About the Contest:
I was fortunate to be able to spend the second half of the 2016-2017 season with the Providence College Women’s Hockey program. From the locker room, to the weight room, to the practice ice, and finally during game time, I learned much from them about friendship and camaraderie among teammates. With small crowds and little chance of a pro career, these women are a great example of players working hard for love of the game. The team did an amazing job this year and is poised for even more success next year.
I’m pulling together all of the files for a project later on but here is a first look at some of the images.
A few days ago I was out for a swim at my favorite swim beach with my girlfriend. The sky was grey, windy, pretty cold and it was threatening to rain. Aside from the two lifeguards obligated to stay until the first raindrops, we were the only ones there… or so we thought.
Enter Ainsley, steamrolling through the water in full butterfly stroke straight toward us carving through the significant chop like butter. After wiping looks of awe off of our faces we found her mom and introduced ourselves. We would meet the next morning to capture some images of this determined athlete at the same beach.
Ainsley was training for state competitions back in Colorado while here on summer break with her family. Her youth, just 12 years old, mixed with her natural born athleticism were so inspiring. As I prep for the Olympics and get ready to head to Rio, it is this hopeful, determined and optimistic energy I look forward to most.
Ainsley, maybe we’ll see you at the next one… I don’t doubt that we will!
